The Delaware Valley Cardigan Welsh Corgi Association, Inc., (DVCACA) is a regional dog club devoted to the welfare and promotion of the Cardigan Welsh Corgi.  We have been formed for over 30 years.  We are located in the Tri State Area of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware and Northern Maryland according to our  By Laws.

Of the current 80+ individual and household memberships, the majority reside in the Mid-Atlantic Region.  Many of our members are active breeders and exhibitors in conformation; others specialize in obedience, agility and herding while many provide a loving home for their favorite breed, the Cardigan Welsh Corgi.

DVCWCA, Inc. supports a variety of activities.  Our Specialty in June with the Bryn Mawr Kennel Club is held at the Ludwigs Corner Horse Show Grounds, off Route 100 North.  This show is a few miles north of the PA Turnpike and the Downington exit.  This is an all breed show and it offers Obedience as well.  It also enables our club members to showcase their talents for producing beautiful trophies, artwork and a bountiful lunch for all members and friends who attend.  Lunch is free to all who join in enjoying the Cardigan Welsh Corgi.  We support several shows each year with sweepstakes.  Many times it is with the Philadelphia Fall Shows in November.  It is benched and provides the public with a great overview of the Cardigan Welsh Corgi.

We hold a fall match each year the day after the Devon in October and after the match we have fun classes for all Cardigans and their owners.  Our match provides a way to introduce puppies to the show scene and to help new members learn if they would like this sort of activity.  We provide a lunch and loads of laughter and fun for all ages of Cardigans and people.  We also provide "Canine Good Citizen" and "Therapy Dog International" testing, as many of our members do therapy work with their Cardigans.  We are called upon yearly to provide child dog training to pre-schools and regular schools/  Children can also enjoy this fun day with their Cardigans as the favorite fun class so far is the "hot dog eating contest".  Yes, we mean for the Cardigans to eat the hot dogs!

The Club is also active in education the public about the Cardigan Welsh Corgi.  For several years now, in January, we have participated in the Lehigh Valley Kennel Club Canine Learning Experience, where members and their dogs have a chance to present our breed to thousands of visitors as well as distribute informational literature about Cardigans.  Individual members and their dogs also visit elementary and nursery schools as well as nursing homes with their Therapy Dogs.

DVCWCA, Inc. has an active rescue program.  The club is a member of the ABRA and has a network of contacts throughout the Mid-Atlantic States.  This network is published in the Directory of the Pennsylvania Federation of Dog Clubs of which DVCWCA is a member.  A portion of our funds are dedicated to the rescue program.

Come join us and enjoy the company of Cardigan friends.  We pride ourselves on being friendly to all.
